FAQ’s
Some of our most Frequently Asked Questions
What is a private GP?
We not only offer the same services as the NHS but also a wider range of diagnostic tests and appointment flexibility. We can spend more time with you helping you make a decision and offer flexible appointments and continuity of care so you can see the same doctor.
Will you have access to my NHS notes?
Yes, if you ask us to. We can make a subject access request to your NHS GP for a copy of the medical records held by them.
Do you have to share things with my NHS GP?
No. This is entirely up to you. If you wish we will forward all your notes and results to your NHS GP. Alternatively, these are kept in confidence between us.
Can you refer me to NHS services?
Where you would be eligible for a referral on the NHS we can make this referral on your behalf and you would join the NHS waiting list. We will write to your GP informing them of this. If we suspect cancer then we can make urgent referrals to the NHS, however some hospitals require investigations to be complete prior to accepting the referral. Where this is an issue we will liaise with your NHS GP immediately in order to prevent any delay in your care.
Who can you refer me to?
There is a wide network of private healthcare providers throughout the UK. We have links with multiple providers in our area. We can help you decide who best to manage your care from a range of private providers.
Will I have to pay for my prescriptions?
Private prescriptions can be taken to any pharmacy and there will be a cost associate with them. Depending on the medication this can often be less than the NHS fixed charge of £9.65.
