Weight Loss Management: Finding the Right Approach for You

Weight Loss Management: Finding the Right Approach for You

At See Me GP, we know that weight management is rarely straightforward. Many people who struggle with their weight have already tried diets, exercise plans, or online programmes, only to find that the results don’t last, or that the approach doesn’t fit into their daily lives. That’s why we believe weight loss should never be a “one-size-fits-all” journey. Instead, it should be about finding solutions that are realistic, sustainable, and right for you.

Why book a weight loss consultation?

When you book an appointment with one of our GP’s, the focus is entirely on you. We take the time to listen, understand your lifestyle, and explore any underlying health concerns that may be affecting your weight. Our aim is to support you in finding safe and effective strategies that make sense for your circumstances, rather than offering generic advice.

What options are available?

Weight loss management is more than calorie counting or gym memberships. At See Me GP, we can explore a wide range of options with you, including:

  • Lifestyle and dietary advice – practical, achievable changes that suit your day-to-day routine.
  • Medical checks – identifying whether health issues, such as thyroid problems or hormone imbalances, could be making weight loss harder.
  • Medication – for some patients, weight loss medication can provide additional support alongside lifestyle changes.
  • Referral pathways – where appropriate, we can connect you with specialists such as dietitians or weight management services.
  • Ongoing support – we can schedule follow-up appointments to keep you on track, reassess progress, and adjust the plan as needed.

Considering hormones and menopause

For many people, hormones play a major role in weight changes – particularly around perimenopause and menopause. At See Me GP, we are fortunate to have a British Menopause Society accredited GP who can offer expert advice and support in this area. If your weight concerns are linked to hormonal changes, we can provide tailored guidance, discuss treatment options, and explore how hormone management could make a real difference to your overall health and wellbeing.

A supportive and non-judgemental approach

Many people find conversations about weight difficult, and that’s why our team at See Me GP takes a compassionate and understanding approach. Our goal is not only to help you lose weight but also to improve your overall health and wellbeing.
