Introducing Cryotherapy with Dr Ben Burgess

What is Cryotherapy?

See Me GP are excited to be able to offer cryotherapy as part of our commitment to providing cutting-edge health and wellness treatments to our patients. Cryotherapy is a therapeutic technique that involves exposing the body to extremely cold temperatures for a short duration, typically using liquid nitrogen This innovative treatment is renowned for its ability to reduce inflammation, alleviate pain, and accelerate the healing process in muscles and tissues. Cryotherapy offers a range of benefits tailored to individual health needs. See Me GP is delighted to bring this advanced and effective treatment to our patients,  for a variety of benign skin lesions.

You can find out more about it here;

How does it work?

Recognising individual differences, Dr Burgess will carefully assess your condition, medical background, and concerns. We will discuss the pros and cons of the treatment, giving you time to make an informed choice.

If you decide to go ahead, Dr Burgess will apply an extremely cold probe directly to the lesion, triggering local frostbite to it. The lesion then falls off. It can be effective for warts, verrucae, seborrheic keratoses (‘age warts’) and skin tags. It’s a proven method with minimal discomfort and quick recovery.

Some lesions may need repeat treatments. If Dr Burgess can’t treat your lesion or there’s uncertainty about its nature, we can discuss options like arranging a hospital referral. We know each person is unique and Dr Burgess will listen to your wishes and tailor treatment options accordingly.
